Tech Briefing Template

Here is the template to follow for posting a tech briefing blog. This blog is not for posting proposals. See my D2L comments. (If I say, you can post it, then you can.) In an effort to avoid more confusion, here is a template (followed by an example).

The goal of the tech briefing is to read the relevant literature about your topic. Then,

1. Briefly describe the main point or contribution of the article or topic of choice. 
2. Post the tech briefing on the class blog for comments from others. 
3. It is best to ASK a question so that others can read the article and comment, post other related articles, or ask their own question. The original “poster” has to be available to respond, and commenters need to see how others responded to your comment. 

In short, this is not a one-time post, where it is marked "done", and never come back.

Grading will be based on the original post (and linkable link), as well as the question(s) asked. Given that students will likely comment on your blog questions, it is best to check the blog weekly, if not more often. The original post and responses are worth up to 10 points, but you can add points with your comments to others, as well as additional posts on newsworthy events.  See the online rubric in D2L/Essential Information for details on this.

Commenting on blog posts is encouraged but not required for every post.  If you want to offer your point of view, or another link, or even disagree with author's point of view, you are welcome to do so (respectfully, of course).   Hopefully the questions asked will spark an interest in responding.
